Punch biopsy waiting time

Morning 

New here, 2 weeks ago I went to the doctor's to get my ear checked as have an area that has been there a few months thats slightly raised, crusted and never heals. Referral was done and seen by the dermatologist today. She looked and said a punch biopsy is needed. My question is how long does it usually take to get a biopsy appointment? I was told someone would call but no time frame given. Trying not to worry but having the word cancer used it's hard not too.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're currently waiting for an appointment to have a biopsy following your recent consultation with the dermatologist. we know that for many people this period of waiting can be difficult. 

    It's really difficult to say how long you may have to wait for your appointment as this will be based on a number of different factors. It's worth giving the secretary or dermatology a call to ask for some clarification on waiting times. Hopefully they will be able to give you an idea about when you should have some news. 

    I hope that you're not left waiting too long and that the biopsy results bring some positive news.
