Does MDT meeting mean bad news?

Hi everyone, I had my appointment on Tuesday where I had the marble size lump on my upper outer portion of my left breast looked at, I was given an ultrasound which was deemed as U3 and 3 core biopsies were taken. I was booked in for a telephone call for the following Wednesday (next week) to go through the results when they come back. I called up today to ask if there had been any results and the secretary said the results are back but are scheduled to be discussed at the MTD meeting this afternoon, and obviously she can’t discuss any results with me. I’m now worrying that it means they have found something sinister since it’s been discussed at the MTD meeting.

can anyone share their experiences with what it means if the results have to be discussed by the MDT meeting please. Very anxious as I wait to hear something back.

thank you x x

  • Hi Jamtan01,

Please don't worry about your results going to an MDT meeting. This is normal practice with all results, irrespective of the findings. This is always an anxious wait and  I am glad to see that you don't have much longer to wait before you get the results. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on om Tuesday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    me

now surgeon /consultant has changed times as he needs as he has demanded to se me face to face i’m so nervous but thank you for the reply going through the tonsilrctomy

ive never felt pain like it

  • Hi Jamtan01

I was only 4 when I had my tonsils out, but I believe that this procedure is a lot more painful when you are an adult. I am sorry to hear that your appointment has been changed and I hope that you don't have much longer to wait. It is only natural to feel anxious, but irrespective of how the results turn out, you'll feel better once you know.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Jamtan01,

I am glad to see that you have now had your results appointment and I hope that it went well. How is your throat feeling now after your surgery? - I hope that it has settled down. Please keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

    Kind regards,

  • no wasn’t the results i expected got

    micro cancer cells

in neck so 6 weeks of radiotherapy 5 days aweek got to have 4 teeth out first at maxifacial i’m dreading it im just hopimg they put me to sleep when they remove them x still everything taste horror had a strawberry and cream frappe from costas ties tasted awful just want everything to taste nice now

  • Hi Jamtan01,

I am so sorry to hear this. Six weeks of radiotherapy should fly by, when you are attending 5 days a week. I hope that will zap these rogue cells and that there will be no need for any further treatment. I am sure that the maxillofacial team will give you a general anaesthetic if you ask them. Hopefully food will begin to taste better once you have these teeth out. Do you have a date for either or both of these procedures yet?

It will take some time for all this to sink in, but please remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
