I’ve just arrived at work but have good news- clear margins, a tiny bit of cancer in one of three lymph nodes, but NO CHEMO!! I’m so relieved! Letrozole once the results of a blood test come through, and I’ve basically been discharged!!

I am glad to see that there is some good news interspersed between the bad and hope that the cancer turns out not to be too aggressive. I sincerely hope that tests reveal that this is one of the less aggressive strains. Please keep in touch and let us know.

Hi Lara , they automatically tested for this and it’s good news. Scored 15 so don’t need to go through chemo. So 5 days of radiotherapy is all that is required.  Xx

I had 5 days of radio too then straight on to tamoxifen xx 

the day I found out no chemo I cried my eyes out and had a massive party xx. 

I am sooo happy.  I will be celebrating too this weekend.   How did the 5 day radio affect you? X

radio was fine a few tired spells but worked right through funny taste in mouth after a few days but wasn’t bad I absolutely covered myself in cream cream cream like I mean smothered as I didn’t have any trouble then , you ate at finish line now I’m so happy when will it start ? X

My left.  I will get plenty of cream stocked up.   I haven’t getting a date yet.  Have to wait to hear from another hospital as the one I have been going to, don’t do radiotherapy.  If they go by the 6 weeks after surgery , it will either be the week before Xmas or week after x  

Same I had it on the left you have to do the breathing it’s hard to do I had a meltdown and they changed it so I didn’t have to do the breathing you have to hold your breath , so if you find it hard just tell them and they will do it a easy way xx 

You will have a planning scan it’s easy peasy I could do the breathing great at my planning but when it came to actually getting it I couldn’t do it it’s a walk in the park honestky x

You can try it lots are fine with it I just went blank and couldn’t do it there’s always other ways like I had it if you struggle x 

Thanks Lara I’m sure I can manage for a week haha.  Another question.  Did your vision go blurry sometimes taking tamoxifen.  Last 2 days it’s happened with me for about 10/15 mins. 

Yes deffo have vision issues here and there more so at the beginning month it does subside x

My sight certainly went blurry with Tamoxifen and Letrozole and I eventually had 2 cataracts removed. It's hard to tell whether this was due to natural ageing or to the hormone therapy.

That's the ideal time to mention it. Have you had your eyes tested recently? If so, you might find it helpful to visit your optician to make a comparison between how your eyes are now and how they were at the time of your last visit.
