Post menopause suspected endometrial cancer

Hi everyone,

I was referred on the two-week fast track to my hospital after having 4 bouts of light spotting, I'm two years post menopause and I was on HRT before I was referred to hospital.

My ultrasound showed a thickened endometrium and possibly what they thought might be a polyp, so I was referred for a hysteroscopy.

First attempt at the hysteroscopy was a fail, I have a tilted cervix and have never had children and even with gas and air was too painful, so was referred for another attempt under GA.

Went for the hysteroscopy under GA and they still couldn't get a good enough sample to biopsy, so they have put me on a "watch and wait" for 3 months at which point they'll do another ultrasound.

That is stressful enough as I just keep thinking that if there is something horrible, it's just sitting there growing.

However I've now had a really heavy bleed for two full days. So heavy the first day that it went through a pad in a couple of hours, which is heavier then when I used to have normal periods. I also have a fairly constant low dragging abdominal ache, bit like period pains.

I've been off my HRT for about 8 weeks.

I just don't know what to do, rang my GP who just told to stick with the "watch and wait". Is it worth me doing a private CA 125 blood test?

I have a history of abnormal smears and have had two LLETZ treatments, although the last one was normal.

I'm at my wits end and so worried. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Love and support to everyone that is on this forum xx
