Urgent 2ww breast referral

Hey! I have a 3cm+ lump on my right breast. This isn’t the my first scan. Since 2019 I’ve had 3 scans which all turned out to be cysts. This lump is in the same place as 2 of my other referrals but it’s much bigger I think. Still round and movable but I just can’t help but to fear the absolute worst is going to happen. My appt is on Thursday coming, nearly 3 weeks after my GP appt due to doctor strikes etc! Not helpful to have to wait this long. 
My last scan was May 2021 so over 2 years ago, and I am convinced this time is going to be bad news, just a real bad feeling. I darent even book anything in with friends past next Thursday as I’m so scared it’ll be cancer. 
help!

    Aw Ali that’s awful for you. I know exactly how you feel. I’ve had breast and underarm pain since January 22 and had two clear mammograms and part ultrasound last year. No cause identified for the pain but it’s relentless. I’m now awaiting my third appointment and told today that it will be at least another few weeks before I get a date. 
    Totally understand your fears as in the very same but it sounds like you could have another cyst? Our minds take us to very dark places when we are so worried so keep busy as everyone says. Not easy I know but time will soon pass and by this time next week you will know for certain what’s going on x here to chat anytime.

    it’s nice to know that we’re not alone, I find the waiting the worst! You’re so right about going to dark places, sometime the things I think are terrible and I can’t stop spiralling.

    I hope all goes well for your next appt. I once had bad pain under my arm, that spread down the side, when I had an ultrasound they found that one of my lymph nodes was just close to surface and it can cause pain, I’m sure with your clear mammograms and ultrasound it wouldn’t be anything sinister but better to be on the safe side. X

    Bigger doesn't always mean cancer so hold onto that, especially as you have a history of cysts. Chances are that this will also be a cyst. I know how difficult waiting is. I've been waiting for the results of an excisional biopsy for 11 days now (appointment is on Tuesday) and your mind does spiral and think of every possiblity. Keeping busy has helped me, as has watching programmes that make me laugh. Friends has been on the TV a lot in the last couple of weeks!! Hope all goes well on Thursday. Keep us updated x

    Thanks Moo, yes I know but you know Dr Google etc it’s hard to imagine anything positive sometimes. I guess my only reassurance is that this will be my 4th ultrasound/breast clinic referral since 2019 and the lump is the same place, even with that tho it’s hard to think it’s going to be ok, I darent let myself feel anything other.

    i hope everything goes well for you this Tuesday. That’s a long time to wait. Was anything said at your appt as to what they think it might be?

    Hi Ali,

    Dr Google is nobody's friend at this stage - try to steer clear until you know what you are dealing with. The fact that your lump is round and moveable bodes well for it being another cyst. As Moo said, "Bigger doesn't always mean cancer, so hold onto that." I shall be thinking of you next Thursday and hope that all goes well.
