small lump in neck

Hi Guys,

I hope u are all well, i am a 20 year old university student, and over the last few months i discovered a small lump in my neck, my doctor has told me that she thinks that its most likely a swollen lymph node as i have no other symptoms or lumps, however she requested i have a ultrasound, blood test and a visit to the ent department. I have really bad health anxiety after an incident with my heart earlier this year. Im feeling very anxious and scared, and was just wondering if anyone is going through a similar situation right now, and weather they have any advice with how to deal with all this and what i can expect from the appointment, waiting time for results ect.

Sending love to everyone who is currently dealing with a diagnosis or in any similar situation x

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some concerns about a recent lump that you've found. it's good to know that you've already seen your GP and it sounds as if they're being thorough in getting this checked out with further investigations. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for some answers and reassurance.

We know that for many people this period of waiting for an appointment can be worrying and with the previous health problem that you've mentioned, it's understandable that you're feeling particularly anxious. It can often help to chat things through with someone and I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk with one of our nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice and support they can ahead of your appointment. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
