I have had an enlarged tonsil for at least 2.5 years, I went to ENT first in April 2021 with ear fullness and was sent for a brain mri which came back clear. They also asked about my tonsil and I said I thought it had always looked like that. I didn’t think anymore about my tonsil but the ear fullness persisted and I never got a proper diagnosis just possible blocked Eustachian tube. I was re referred by the GP this year with continued ear fullness and intermittent pain. I went back to ENT he said oh has your tonsil always looked like that looked back at his computer and said oh it was like that in 2021 if it was anything you wouldn’t be here! This panicked me and led me to google one enlarged tonsil where there doesn’t seem to be any positive stories. I paid to see a private ENT who thought my ear problem was from clenching my teeth and don’t seem too concerned about my tonsil. He mentioned I could have a MRI with contrast due to my anxiety if I wanted to. I have suffered tonsillitis many times before and occasionally get a sore throat. Everyone on this forum who has an enlarged tonsil seems to have had a tonsillectomy?! I’m just so worried about it all. Can anyone help?
