Red mark on breast

Hi everyone


I wondered if anyone could offer any advice please as I am very scared.

Today I woke up and discovered a red mark on my breast a few centimetres from my nipple. It’s almost a c shape, not very big, about 50p length from start to finish but not constant red and about 5p wide at worst of it. It doesn’t hurt, is flat and not raised or dimpled.

I say it doesn’t hurt but I’ve felt the odd twinge today probably from poking and prodding it throughout the day.

It doesn’t resemble a spot or bite and it isn’t itchy at all. It doesn’t hurt to press which makes me think it can’t be a bruise. 

There isn’t any history of breast cancer in my family. I’m absolutely petrified about what it could be. Has anyone had anything similar ir have any advice please?

    Coming across any unusual or unexplained marks is always a bit scary but it's good you've noticed it so you can now keep an eye on it but if the mark doesn't improve, or continues to get worse, then it would be best to book an appointment with your GP and/or nurse as they'll be able to take a look at it for you and let you know if it's any cause for concern.

    I'm sure some of our members will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon but in the meantime we'll have our fingers crossed the mark disappears by itself.
