Mole change

Hello

i just wondering if someone has had a similar experience to me please. I have a mole which has a faded edge and noticed it had grown and looked bit odd last October.

I was referred on two week referral, and the consultant I saw said he wasn't sure if it was ok or not, so then he went and got another consultatant who looked at it and said it looked fine and asked me why I was there. When I explained it had changed colour and grown, he took some photos and juts said we will see you back in 6 months snd sent me on my way . It all felt a bit rushed and they didn’t really explain why they wanted to see me again and I left feeling bit confused.

so I was due a review in April which would of been 6 months, and despite chasing the nhs and been told I’m on the list and they are very busy, I’ve finally got an app for 3 weeks time and in now feeling very nervous. If my mole is malignant, in concerned about the implications of my app been 5 months late, and not sure of the reason he wanted me to go back in the first place.

thanks for listening xx

  • Hi, I’ve been having my moles checked since 2016.
having follow ups is completely normal and not something to worry about :) if they seen you and then decided to take further action, that’s when they suspect there could be a possibility of malignancy. If they send you on your way to continue monitoring. Take that as reassurance that at that present time. Youre moles are safe to be left alone :)

I’ve recently had my second excision biopsy and awaiting my results. They will only refer you to that extent if they feel it necessary to do so. I hope you continue to be monitored and stay safe out in the sun x
