Most people are having a longer than usual wait because of the backlog from covid and staff shortages also Doctors strikes ,so 2ww doesn't necessary mean 2 weeks from what I've seen on here over the last months .

Thanks for replying Jenny, that's what I thought was most likely but I'm prone to overthinking so wanted to be sure. I wish nobody ever had to wait, but we are where we are I suppose.

Sadly this sort of delay is common, but it should never be accepted as normal.

In the past, I’ve phoned the hospital’s appointments team, explained the situation and asked if I could be offered any cancellations that come up.

I'll try following your example and see if they'll put me on their cancellations list. I feel rotten doing it as I know an extra two weeks is probably not going to make a huge difference and there are so many of us in need, but the waiting and worrying is so difficult.
