Skin biopsy - shave excision site with nodules

Hi,

I've just had a shave excision on my foot to remove and investigate a discolouration patch. The biopsy site is about 0.5 cm deep. I've noticed that the wound isn't flat across and instead has 2 light coloured nodules or ulcer looking growths in the centre Is this usual and part of the skin tissue?

Thanks for your help!

  • Hello Lunala,

I am not really sure myself whether this is to be expected but I would suggest as you are concerned about it that you show it or bring it up with your GP or with the specialist at the hospital where you had the skin biopsy done. They will have the expertise to tell you if this is to be expected.

I hope that you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results and that you will hear from other members of our community who have had this type of shave excision on their foot and had a discolouration patch investigated.

Everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be fine! Keep us updated on what you find out if you get a chance.

    Best wishes,

  • I've had skin cancer that grew back and doubled in size a week after biopsy. It grew really fast and was the size of a dime in a month. Good Luck! I hope that you get your biopsy results soon and it's not skin cancer.
