Recently referred on a 2ww wait to breast clinic (had a cyst in 2021 which always seems to go up and down) but since taking HRT hasn't gone down (only taken HRT for 6 months and then have had to come off it)
Thought it would just be a routine mammogram like last time but ended up having further mammograms and ultrasound followed by biopsies and markers placed. Wasnt feeling too bad when I saw the radiographer who did the biopsies as she said microcalcifications are common around cysts and this was just to confirm what was going on, but then saw the consultant who kept apologising and said I had really dense breasts (I'm 46 and went through menopause in 2021) and that she couldn't see what the problem was. She also said because of the density she would order and MRI with constrast to check. Then she said that I should expect the worst but hope for the best and handed me a macmillan card. I am now waiting for the MRI and have received an appointment with the breast surgery team which is another week and a half away, having good days and then having days where I am totally panicking!
