Colonscopy results.

Waiting for the results after a recent colonscopy.

Reffered on the 2 week pathwaydue to fluctuating bowel habits, blood in stool and a low leftside pain.  Edoscopist found a 30mm pendunculated polyp n digmoid colon

No comment on if it was benigh/suspicious - just says waiting on results of test. Do they usually comment to say if they think its benign?

  • So they must have removed the polyp to test it ???  they usually give you a report at the end ,mine found Diverticulitis fibroid but nothing to worry about and I was transferred back to GP 2 days before that I'd had a Hysteroscopy where they found a polyp and removed it and did some biopsies ,they did say after that ,it didn't look nasty that was her words but still to wait for results in about 2 weeks time ,when the results came they were right about what they said , It does put your mind at ease a bit while you're waiting but you still think what if they're wrong so the wait was a bit scary ,also I think not all hospitals work the same way and if they aren't certain whether they think it looks suspicious or benign I don't think they'd guess .

  • Yes polyp removed ..consultant didn't speak about it..report says size, type of polyp and how it was removed and rest of colon looks normal. My minds probably just working overtime - the waiting is horrible.

  • In my opinion what I've learnt is its the big polyps that can't be removed during a Colonoscopy that are usually the suspicious ones ,its just a waiting game but they say most polyps are ok ,let us know how you get on if you need anyone to chat with .

  • Ahh OK thanks for your reply  x
