First of all you will have a breast examination, followed by a mammogram, once that has been studied you might have an ultrasound scan. Following the outcome for that, if everything is fine, they will be waving you out the door. If they have tge slightest suspicion about what they see, they will, most likely, do a core needle biopsy which doesn't hurt as they will use a local anesthetic which can briefly be a bit stinging but manageable.  Then you will have a chat with a doctor or breast nurse who will answer any questions you have.  Even if they do a biopsy this doesn't mean you have cancer, it just means they want to be super sure that there isn't any cancer. After that it's about a 2 week wait for results which is the hard part, something I am going through at the moment,  should get results next week. Hope they will be waving you out the door with nothing to worry about.
