Blood in stool twice really worried

A month ago I noticed blood on my stool for the first time ever and then a few days ago I noticed it again. I have also been having looser stools more often (for the past 6 months) so I made an appointment with my GP. I did a stool sample which came back normal (but this was before the second episode of blood) so I suppose that is a good sign but I am just wondering when you do a sample do they do a FIT test? I also have a blood test in a couple of weeks (later than planned since I missed the first appointment). But I know if the blood test is normal then they probably won't do anymore tests and I'm not sure what to do as I'm still quite concerned as even though I'm only I read all these things about how you are never too young. I'm just not sure where to go from here especially since I go back to uni end of september and then if I get any more issues I'm not sure what I'll do as I know that when you register with a different GP you have to unregister with your current GP.

  • Hi bethan225,

It's good to hear you have booked a GP appointment. Try to make the most of this by asking any questions you have regarding next steps and the process to getting any answers or reassurance you need. Your doctor will be best placed to advise on all this.

I can see you have posted elsewhere and received some helpful replies from others, so hopefully you can also take some reassurance from their comments.

I hope it's not too long to wait for your appointment.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
