Lump found left upper chest wall

Hi all.

first time post here

So I was feeling exhausted end of last year and then started to get pain on my shoulder. Then I had a lump appear on my upper left chest wall. Measures 2.9x2.7x1.6 hyperoehoic mass with angular margins. Had a breast mri last week and yet to have results, but have a biopsy booked for second week in august.

im frustrated because they said I would hear within a week and I called today and they said no one had even read my mri yet. She booked me in for the biopsy so I didn’t have to wait any longer

Getting frightened as everything I’m reading about this and what it looks like from ultrasound is making me think the worst.

  • Hi, sorry you find yourself here …

Unfortunately delays are presently often common. It is very frustrating for us as patients, and also for the medical staff.

(For example my MRI result was not available at my consent for surgery appointment, consultant had to demand it and call me back for a second consent appointment to sign as the surgery was then in two days time).

It really is a waiting game and waiting is simply horrid.

Hold on to the fact that the majority of referrals are not cancer. It is good that you have your biopsy appointment, will be thinking of you, let us know how it goes. Hugs xx

  • Thank you for your response.

I just wish the biopsy was closer, it seems so far away and the lump has definitely grown since I had initial testing. My arm is becoming numb with rand on aching and sharp shooting pain as the lump is pressing on nerves
