Breast clinic app date 4th August, is anyone else's around then?

Hi, i found a lump in my breast Tuesday night. Went to see the GP Wednesday morning and he referred me straight to the breast clinic and said I'd hear something within the week about an appointment. Got a letter by email this morning saying my appointment is on the 4th of August which is a week today!

Anyone else waiting for an appointment? Or got one confirmed on or around that day?

Just thought it would be nice for us who are going through the same thing to have a chat whilst we wait :) as its so nerve wrecking!

  • Hi,I guess I’m ok actually , just wanting to know what’s going on, frustrating. Dr Google not helping! I was so scared about the womb cancer I had but it was caught early and I had a hysterectomy and some radiation ,all very doable but I won’t do chemo , that is my concern if they find something. Do you have kids/ family?

  • Yes I've got 2 daughters with my partner, aged 10 and 12. Have you? My partner can't come with me as he will have to stay home with the girls and they don't know.

Glad they caught the womb cancer early, must be even scarier having a history, you seem like such a strong woman!  why won't you do chemo?

I'm so nervous about tomorrow, absolutely dreading it, I won't sleep tonight I know it!

  • I didn’t do chemo for the womb cancer as it was caught very early,, they wanted me to have it due to the grade but I’m here 5 years later, no symptoms. Bloods and mammogram done in January so shouldn’t be anything sinister, just a bruisy vein and inner breast pain. One surface cyst has got bigger but it’s not near the hurting area. If it’s bad take it out is my motto, no sense in treating with chemo, hoping all has gone ,feeling like crap ,having an operation, still feeling like crap  and if the breast doesn’t need removing then you have the worry, will it happen again etc.

Im 67 , hubbie is a paramedic so have had great support, wish I was near to give you a hug, you’ll breath a big sigh after tomorrow,it’s probably a cyst ,I have a few , good luck.x

  • My cousin had breast cancer and had to have the chemo and radiotherapy to shrink the tumours before she could have a mastectomy, she chose to only have the one affected breast taken away but I think id want both if I had to have one anyway.

Oh wow your hubby is a paramedic! You must be so proud of him! I'm glad you have great support :)

Hopefully both of us will leave the clinic tomorrow with good news, its the not knowing that's awful! I'm 36 by the way, 37 later this month
