Hi everyone, so I had an appointment with the consultant today who was lovely. She examined me and doesn't feel anything worrying, just feels like more thick/fibrous tissue to her/a fibroadenoma. She's referring me for a non-urgent ultrasound as she's not worried. So, good news! But a little disappointing that I didn't get the scan today. The letter was really misleading, saying I would be there for up to 2 hours for all the necessary tests and investigations. Could be a bit of a wait for the ultrasound but she did take note that I'm getting married in 7 weeks, so hopefully that speeds up the last of things. 

Happy everything is sounding positive but it's just scary how thick, fibrous and ever-changing my boob is. I'll let everyone know when my appointment letter comes through - I can't thank you all enough for your support so far x

Thank you for the update. This is fantastic news. It is a pity that you couldn't have had your ultrasound today and got all the tests over and done with. However, it is good to hear that they are investigating this thoroughly, if only for your own peace of mind.

Here's hoping that you get the US and results back before your wedding and then you'll be really able to enjoy the day, as you should.

So happy for you anneroseina  I too had good news today. I went to my follow up appointment. You ladies gave me lots of support and reassurance but I was still worried and needed to hear it. So, when I got to my appointment the consultant started the conversation with, ‘we don’t normally follow up this quick but’ 

I tell you My heart flipped over until she went on to say,

’‘as you came in on an emergency appointment that was slotted in, we didn’t  to see you afterwards’

She went on to tell everything was fine. I have other cysts in my breast but none big enough to be drained. She said there is a possibility they could increase in size (I hope not I couldn’t stand the anxiety again!) but there is nothing to worry about. 

I am so happy but again sparing  a thought for those not so lucky and those leaving breast clinics today with not so positive news.

Thank you for the update. I am so delighted to hear your good news. You must feel so relieved tonight. Here's hoping that your cysts don't grow big enough to need to be drained. However, it's a fairly simple procedure even if they do.

Just popping on whilst I've got signal in Cornwall lol. That must be frustrating having to wait for an ultrasound I would of thought you would of had one there and then at the clinic! Good news that they think its nothing sinister!

I have just had a phone call delaying my results by 1 day, why would you think that could be? Could it be i need to see a certain person who doesn't work the day my appointment is. Should of had my results on 14th but couldn't because I'm away so was booked in for the 21st, now they've rang to say they won't be ready on the 21st but will on the 22nd? Don't make sense to me

Hope you’re having a lovely time away! Yeah, happy that no one seems concerned but equally gutted/anxious that I’m still waiting. It said on my letter that I would be there for 2-3 hours for all the relevant tests but I wasn’t? So confused. 

That’s strange, not sure what it could mean but it might be something to do with staffing issues, like you say x

Sometimes they do further tests to be sure (either way - negative or positive) and pathology not had results back yet or delayed. 
Hope you are managing to enjoy your holiday. Can imagine it’s more difficult with this at the back of your mind xx

They just say 3 hours so you give yourself enough time, just in case it's that' long, often it's shorter or in my case I was there for 4 hours.  When they make the appointment they don't know how many tests you might need so nothing for you to worry about.
