Concerned about endometrium thickness

Hi all,

Just a bit of background I’m currently 3 months postnatal and was experiencing some cramping and light spotting so had an ultrasound scan on Monday. At the appointment the sonographer explained that everything was clear but that my lining was slightly thick. They said that this was likely due to being due on my period and wasn’t concerned. My lining was 14mm that day and then that same day I started my period.

My GP got my results and were happy with it so haven’t wanted to go any further with it. I’m just wondering if this thickness is normal? When I’ve googled about thickness, it says it should be at its thinnest days 1-5 of menstruation. I got the scan on the Monday when it was measuring 14mm but I also started my period a few hours later that same day? Is that right?

I’m 29 and a new mum and honestly I’ve been so sick with worry, I just need to know if I need to push back on this or not?

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health problems recently and that you're still feeling anxious about things. It's good to hear that the scan didn't give any immediate cause for concern but from your post, you're clearly still worried about things.

We know that many people turn to the Internet for information when they have a health concern. Unfortunately what happens most often is that they don't find clear answers to their individual situation and instead are left feeling more anxious. Please try to avoid searching Google for answers. Instead, make an appointment to talk with your GP about your concerns. I'm sure they will be able to give you some reassurance so that you can spend this time getting to know your baby and enjoying your time as a new Mum.

    Best wishes,
