Breast lump found on right breast , some skin dimpling referred  to breast clinic and the wait is the worse part.  Breast is very tender and heavy on one side. Looking on here is very re assuring rather than tell family that you are waiting

  • Hi Lee

sorry you are here and worried , however lots of breast lunps turn out good news only 2 in 10 referrals end up with a diagnosis.

I had breast cancer last Herat hete to chat or help anytime

    love Lara xx

  • Hi Lee,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

We all find the wait to be seen challenging. You will usually get an appointment through for the breast clinic within 2 weeks from the date of referral. You have done the right thing by getting this investigated. As Lara said, the majority of people referred to the clinic will not get a cancer diagnosis. Not all lumps are cancerous. Many turn out to be cysts or fibrous changes. Even if it is cancer, it is treatable and treatments have improved dramatically in the past few years.

Lara is a year post-surgery and I have had 2 bouts in the past 14 years. Despite this we both now live life to the full.

Please keep in touch and let us know when your appointment comes through. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you both for the reply . Staying positive that it's not going To be anything more than fatty tissue or a cyst.  8 more

days to wait . Keeping busy and reading this page has helped

  • Hi Lee,

I am glad to see that you have got your appointment. Keeping busy will help with the wait. Also, steer clear of consulting "Dr Google", as it never serves any useful purpose at this stage. The more positive that you can be, the better you'll find that family and friends will cope too.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hello  sorry to hear you found a lump. Can I ask your age and the nature of the lump. EG - soft , firm, round? I also found a lump and I’m terrified. You are right about doctor google. It does t serve any purpose even though I am googling constantly.

you can read my thread on here x

  • Hi I'm 43 . I noticed very small lump a few weeks ago. I was keeping an eye on it when a few weeks later it was easier to feel and was bigger . It feels hard . I have the Brest clinic this week. Best advice is to keep busy and stay away from goggle or social media . Keep busy and stay positive seems to be the best way forward. From someone who was worried sick and fearing the worst . I Have kept up my walks and meeting friends .
    Good luck

  • Thank you . Reading on hers is keeping me contained

  • @lee33 I am going to try to take your advice. When the doctor felt my lump he referred me straight away. I have family history. He described it as hard. I don’t think it’s rock hard though. Does yours move at all?

  • I was a mess first few days... but it's doesn't help . I don't think it moves . I was very blasey  at gp .. like it's nothing to worry about and never asked  any questions.  Got home and googled . Trying  not to touch it or feel it  as it makes me anxious. The specialists are the best person .
ps it's taken me a few days to get to this stage . So take the advice as above and live  and worry when it comes .
keep asking questions on here as I find reading on her my best comfort

  • @lee33 you sound amazing and I am genuinely going to try to take your advice. You literally question everything in your head though. Is big good or bad? Is small good or bad? Is moveable good and then if your me you try to read  the specialists expressions.
