Hello, I've posted in another chat but I've had pretty much the same thing. About 2 weeks ago I noticed a small hard non moving pea size lump on the right side of my throat/neck under the skin. I noticed it after swallowing food and it felt as is something was stuck or didn't pass smoothly. Referred myself to a ENT, ear throat nose consultant and had that appointment yesterday. Since I've noticed it the size hasn't changed, but it's became hot and tender to touch before returning to how it was. At the appointment she asked me go point out where the lump was before the exam, she checked my ears and mouth first before starting at the back of my neck and working her way down my throat. She said everything looked and felt fine. I then had a fibre optic tube put up my nose and down my throat (you don't feel it as they numb you with a spray) and she checked everywhere and said she can't see any legions, growths or abnormalities. I asked why I could feel this lump and the reason for it becoming hot, tender and she said i could have scratched my throat from food catching the lining, ultimately whatever it was has sorted itself out because she cannot see anything there. I've still got the lump so it may well just be a normal part of my throat. Coincidentally, my brother has one in newr enough the same place on the opposite side of his neck, had it for over 10 years, got it checked twice again they said nothing to worry about. I do feel more at ease but I'll be honest I don't like the fact it's there! It could have been there for years and I've only just noticed it I guess. Either way I'll be monitoring it now and again for changes, I've had no other symptoms and I can't remember the last time I was ill. Hope this clear some stuff up for you.
