Signs, symptoms & worries

Background - 35 F married with 3 children aged 13, 11 & 8 I keep up to date with my smear tests and never had an issue there

from the day I started my period I’ve been regular, normal and any other word to describe average.

anyway back to my sstory. Summer 2021 I had been on the micro pill for 3yrs at this point I then started spotting between periods and then passed a clot the size of my palm, this was alarming for me as I’d never experienced anything like this. Went to GP had a smear all was good fast forward to 2022 and my periods are becoming lengthy 10 days long I’d then get another 5 day period about 2 weeks later this went on and on and I went back to the GP who booked me a scan on the 30th December 2022 I had an external and internal scan. They saw “something” and I was called back for a second scan 2 weeks later. I never heard back and followed up in April to which the gp has now referred me to a gynaecologist . in January I decided to stop taking the pill to see if this would help. I did stop getting x2 periods a month but my period got very heavy and painful and this just keep getting worse

today my symptoms are bleeding during and after sex, sex can be painful and parts. Bleeding between periods (not spotting think more like a regular flow)

heavy bleeding during periods using super tampons and still changing every 1-2 hours

pain in my back between shoulder blades running to the base of my spine . Pain at the base of my spine radiating to my hips

Currently chasing gp to sped up my referral

not sure what answers or reassurance I’m looking for suppose I just needed to get it out there x

  • Hello AJOK35 and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm really sorry to read what's happening at the moment and for the worry this is understandably causing.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will stop by soon to offer their support and advice but in the meantime, I hope writing everything down has helped and that your GP has managed to speed up your referral.

We're thinking of you AJOK35 and will have our fingers crossed everything will turn out o.k.

    Kind regards,
