Swollen lymph above left collarbone

15 July 2023

Hi , not sure what to say , I have noticed a lump at left neck,  3 weeks ago,  I did not bother then I googled it,  short after that felt scared ,contacted GP, as I already have appointment for my menopause issue , as I am going through alot stages , from memory lost and swet and stressed and anxiety and joint aching. Anyway i got to doctor and she transferred urgent blood test and ultrasound.

My thoughts all of over now as i am waiting , this issue kept in myself ,have not told my daughters my husband my mum, we have my 2 uncles died in cancer, my husband 2 aunties died in cancer too , so I keep this to myself and not worry my lots for now !

hello and welcome , I completely relate to the menapausal symptoms they are horrendous, I take now a tablet that blocks oestrogen as I had BC last year so it’s double trouble for me unfortunately thick and fast symptoms.

hopefully your tests will be all clear and it’s just the menopause causing havoc

prior to my breast cancer diagnosis I was going to go down HRT route thankfully I didn’t as was told this would have helped my hormone related cancer to grow so happy I never took it I was clueless that this could happen prior to my diagnosis

here to chat lovely anytime love Lara xxx

Thank you for your replied , hope goes well to  both side keep us update

  • Hey, anyone went for blood test before the scan ? What you say ?

I have blood test results today is normal,  does that mean I don't have to worry ie my lump is not cancer ?

  • Hi Moon

I am currently in a similar situation. I noticed a lump and swelling above my left collarbone about 11 weeks ago but was only in the last month or so I have become more anxious about it all as i now have a continuous cough, pain in my shoulder/arm/chest and breathlessness.

Doctor referred me to haematology on 7th of July and requested full blood count and xray. Chest xray was on 11th and bloods done 12th, both came back clear. Haematology app was on 20th, they didn't seem concerned but referred me for a CT scan, that was done on Monday just passed. I have my next consultant appointment on the 8th, keeping everything crossed the CT was clear.

I hope everything is going well for you, has your GP said any more?

  • Hi Galla

Thank you for your replied , well I had blood test was normal,  Radiology department that I have been referring to but was no time slot as urgent so I did it private , ultrasound I did ,they said its clear,  but they said I need to be referred to ENT,  and my neck pain is killing me and there become on the right side sawllen as well, so I went back to GP , again they are useless not taking it seriously so I am taking it privately again  waiting for appointment,  and waiting

I am so worried and kept it quite from family , daughters and mum, so I am kind of alone , I only talk to this chat, and reading of any who had the same issue

Hope your scan will be normal , if blood test and white blood cell is normal that is good sign but still want to be assured that clear

I hope its only mussle and inflammation on the sawllen bit...

Good luck , for both of us

    Please keep me posted

    Are you young ?

I am age of 51 and having imenopause that is making me more anxious,  not happy moody  . I am not  taking HRT because I heard alot got side effects of developing cancer.

    Keep me posted xx

  • Hi Moon

I'm glad your ultrasound has come back clear, hopefully you will get an appointment for ENT soon.

I am 35, I have rheumatoid arthritis and over the last few days have read the medication can be linked to lymphoma, the joys of having Google so easily at hand. I'm really hoping the consultant will have some good news next week.

Everyone on here is so lovely, never feel like you are alone <3 xXx

  • Hi Galla,

Did they do any ultrasound on the swallen lump?

  • Hi Moon

After I seen the consultant they referred me for a CT scan which I thought was weird as presumed an ultrasound would be first but I  suppose with the CT scan it covered my chest, abdomen and pelvis

    xXx

  • Hi Galla

Did you have the consultant appointment?

  • Did you get your CT results? X
