Hi , There is a possibility a more experienced skin specialist  will review the results. A laboratory with newer procedures might also be involved, reading results would need the best experts for a definite outcome.  Have faith it takes time keep busy try not to think negatively.best wishes.

Hi , I know how difficult it is but remember the best people are looking after you. Borderline changes are not always bad news. You have found this in time if it should be suspicious.  Lots of treatment these days. Thinking of you.

No, it doesn't necessarily mean bad news. It means that the cells in the biopsy tissue aren't showing obvious signs of malignancy or normality so they need a second opinion from a more specialist histologist. You don't say what type of skin cancer they are checking for. If it's melanoma, it's sometimes difficult to tell if it's atypical (precancerous or dysplastic) or melanoma. This happens in a small percentage of cases and it's not unusual so try not to think the worst. It may take some time to receive the results as the average wait is currently 8 weeks dependant on each hospital trust.

thank you for the reply. They didn’t say what type they are looking for as it is a new mole that just appeared over a year or so. It is on my ear and is about 5mm diameter. They have taken it off completely but have said depending on results they may need to take more away meaning i would need a skin graft. 
Just wondered about the results.

How are you Angie are you all clear?

If it was a mole then they are most likely looking for melanoma cells which, as I say, can sometimes be difficult to identify from precancerous cells.

I'm in remission (or No Evidence of Disease in melanoma parlance) and doing well thank you.

Did you have a mole too? Or lump? 

I had a mole on my shin 27 years ago. It then returned as a lump in my groin 14 years ago - melanoma was in a groin node and also in a pelvic node. I had a full node clearance and have been in remission (No Evidence of Disease) since then. Melanoma is a sneaky cancer so I am also aware it could return.
