Suspicious markers ?

Hi everyone,

Hope your all well

Quick run down ,I'm 35 and I have had problems with my  periods , missing them completely then going from 31 days to 14 days for the last 7 months . I have spotted regularly and unfortunately look pregnant from bloating . I have been tired for an eternity but put that down to work ... I then developed pain , a constant dull ache and stabbing pain which never goes

Any way cut along story short . I had a smear all clear yay,  but due to my symptoms I was referred to ultrasound.  Now it latest alot longer than I expected maybe 30 minutes internal and external so I assumed he was just being thorough.  Now I called for my results 7 days later as requested and they told me that they won't discuss it with me and to call back on Tuesday.  They called me on Tuesday to tell me I had PCOS and suspicious markers so I am having a blood test this Friday.

Anyone have any similar before diagnosis?

Obviously I am worried but I'm also a little in limbo as I'm not sure what it all means when it comes to my ovaries .

Unfortunately I had pre cancerous tumors in my throat in 2019 which I had surgery to remove so slightly worried its cancer in my ovaries.

What do they mean by suspicious markers ? Before I just got told it was tumors that will be tested after removal from my throat . What blood test will they do ?

Thank you in advance

  • I had the pains you described I would get 2 periods in a month and feel so tired couldn’t keep my eyes open. Went Gp had ultrasound and blood tests. Ultrasound didn’t find anything but blood tests found that I had very low iron I was on iron tablets for 3months and the periods sorted itself out.

hoping it’s something similar for you to x

  • Also can I ask what your symptoms was for the throat as Iam having so much trouble with mine at the moment

  • Hi sweetcheeks5

    Thank you for replying .

I hope its nothing but looking at the ultrasound it's not looking great ..

In terms of my throat I actually lost my voice completely and had difficulty swallowing.

I couldn't speak for 6 weeks as put it down go laryngitis and eventually went to drs and wrote down what was going on . I was referred to xray which actually contacted me less than 5 hours after to state I had emergency ent. I then had a endoscopy which revealed 2 slug like tumors on my vocal cords. I was told I had to have surgery regardless as they were so large I couldn't speak a word.

The tumors where removed and then I had speech therapy . When tested they were classed as precancerous.

Luckily for me I regained my voice 7 months later but its changed permanently.

Other than loss of voice completely and difficulty swallowing I had no other symptoms.

I hope that helps you , if in doubt check it out as they say. Just frustrating that they won't discuss anything with me ! And just keep saying there is suspicious markers ect.

  • Hi Angela

I'm 32 years old female and am awaiting an emergency ENT appointment following the main symptoms of 6 weeks hoarse/very low voice and family history of throat cancer. i also have a horrible taste in my mouth that won't go away (I haven't read anyone else having this?) but I don't have a sore throat or any cold symptoms, just a slight earache and inflammation in my ear and back of throat. Thank you for sharing your experiences on here - I have ended up here as I am also curious about young women with throat cancers and voice symptoms. I was wondering what your recovery was like from the surgery and the 7 months where you didn't fully have your voice. were you in pain? what kind of restriction or change happened to your voice?

    Thank you again
