Hard large movable lymph nodes referral

Hi, so I've had 4 large hard lymph nodes for about 3 months now. I've got 1 under each side of my jaw and 1 on each of my neck. I haven't been ill in months, so today I visited the GP. The GP felt them and said they are alot bigger than the 1cm "normal" so he has referred me to see an ENT under the 2 week wait. I am very worried, but glad I will possibly get an answer, just praying for a good one.

Has anyone had similar? And what can I expect at the next appointment?

I thought I would just post here to keep updated and so that people in a similar situation could read.

Thanks all

  • Good luck to both of you, I hope you both get good news and can enjoy that relief moment. That's good that they have stated peace of mind. My bloods came back yesterday, have another GP appointment to discuss tomorrow but it looks all good. Lump is still there and no real change.

  • I have just got back out of the ENT appointment. She felt the lumps under my jaw and on my neck. She stated that they are round and movable which is good and she was pleases I have no other symptoms. She checked mouth and throat, including the camera down the nose and was all clear. She is going to refer me for an ultrasound to check them properly and to have a FNA if they are concerned with them under ultrasound. She did say she thinks all will be fine but doesn't that doesnt really leave me any less worried. So I am just really hoping to get this scan over with now.

Hope youre keeping well and all goes okay tomorrow sweetcheeks5 and Amy_1710. Please do come back and update here.

  • oh that’s good news, I know the feeling of saying it doesn’t look anything suspicious but sending off for a scan, thank you I’m really anxious for tomorrow

  • Yes round and moveable are both good signs. It definitely sounds positive so that's good but I know what you both mean about knowing for sure. But, all good signs to a good outcome hopefully. The specialists know what they're looking for and just want to give you that peace of mind.

  • Hey guys, so I had my appoitnment had a panic attack and they calmed me down as my anxiety was so high because I was in a treatment room anyways once the nurses calmed me down she told me my mri came back clear blood tests clear and she looked inside my mouth with a torch didn’t go down my throat and told me my throat looks beautiful and to go home and watch a movie. The relief I felt after was like a big weight had lifted off as over the past 6weeks waiting for this appoitnment and results have been draining. Hopfully I will never see a specialist on an urgent referal ever again! Do not want to be in the waiting game crew ever! But yes the relief moment was nice. Praying for great outcomes for you guys aswell xxx

  • Aw, am so sorry to hear about your panic attack :( . Really glad for that outcome though. That is amazing! So so so happy for you xxx

  • Tomorrow I have my ultrasound, I have received the letter stating that it is an ultrasound guided biopsy. Which has made me a bit nervous. I have also received the call today for my follow up appoin ent on the 18th August, I thought they waited for results etc before making a follow up appt? I'm still hoping for the best as that's all I can do.

  • I think they do a follow up regeadless of what the 'biopsy' shows. And I think that's just the term they use. From previous experience I had a lump in my boob, turned out to be a cyst, and that was an ultrasound biopsy, so I think its just normal practice. I hope you get some sort of relief tomorrow though as they should be able to give you some indication
