Hi, just after a bit of reassurance or some help with asking for a second opinion. I’ve had a lump in my right armpit for about 6 months now, I decided to go and get it checked out 1 month ago. The first GP I saw was extremely concerned as she felt a 3cm x 3cm hard lump, she booked me in for an ultrasound and full blood test. During my ultrasound the technician couldn’t see anything even though the lump is visible with the naked eye as my armpit is quite swollen compared with my left armpit. She said I may be sent for further tests or I could just be a medical marvel. My bloods were all in the normal range as well. I had a follow up appointment with another GP for an unrelated matter and I asked what would be happening with the lump. She was quite dismissive and said that it would just be getting left. I’m unhappy with this response but there was no budging her. I’ve read a few forums where an ultrasound couldn’t pick up anything and they were sent for a biopsy or MRI. I feel uncomfortable with leaving a lump and not knowing what it is, I don’t want to be a medical marvel, do you think I should ask for a second opinion? The lump is mostly painless unless someone goes poking around, it’s hard and feels like the shape of a marble. My armpit is also quite itchy. I’ve lost my appetite and have been super fatigued lately as well.
