Lump under ribcage - liver cancer worry

So around a year and a half ago I discovered a hard lump just below where my right ribs are. I couldn't really feel it when lying on my back, only when lying on my left side in certain positions. If I pushed on it, it would move quite sharply. I have no idea how long it had been there, I just happened to notice it then.

I did go to the doctor's and she felt my tummy and said she couldn't feel anything, although I was lying on my back and I'm not sure she went up as high as my ribs. Blood tests all came back fine as well.

I have bad health anxiety though and I'm 36 weeks pregnant now and just terrified something is wrong. I go through phases of forgetting about it and then sometimes I remember it and get really worked up. Obviously with baby  being in my tummy I can't feel around my ribs or anything anymore, so I can't even check how it feels.

I don't know what I'm looking for here really. Maybe advice/reassurance/stories, I don't know. I just can't think what else it would be that's hard and can move like that, in that area.

  • Welcome to the forum Rach although I'm sorry for the worry this lump is causing. This must be very difficult, especially with your little one on the way.

I'm sure some of our members who have contended with something similar will be along soon to offer their thoughts and advice but in the meantime, do make sure you go back to your GP to discuss your concerns as they'll be in the best position to help and let you know when this can be looked at again.

We're thinking of you Rach and wishing you all the best with the rest of your pregnancy.

    Kind regards,
