  • Hello Sa_ra

I'm sorry to hear about all that you've been through over the past few days. I hope the tenderness and cramping have settled following your colonoscopy on Friday.

Being told that it's likely you have cancer can be incredibly difficult news to hear. It's perfectly understandable that you may be experiencing a whole host of different emotions right now.

Hopefully once you have your appointment with the consultant they will be in a position to answer some of your questions and give you some reassurance about the next steps.

I know that for many people this period of waiting for more information and news can be really difficult. Often it helps to talk to someone and so I'd suggest giving our nurses a call. I know they will be happy to talk things through with you and offer any advice, information, and support they can ahead of your next appointment. If you want to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

In the meantime, try to avoid searching the internet for information as we know that what happens to most people is that they're left feeling more worried. Try to keep yourself busy and think positively. Hopefully you have good support around you from your husband and family and friends. Do lean on them for whatever it is that you need.

Keep in touch Sa_ra and let us know how you're doing.

    Best wishes,
