I'm sorry to hear about all that your Aunt has been through recently. It's understandable that she's feeling anxious ahead of the appointment with the colorectal nurse later this week. 

Many people find this period of waiting for results difficult and it's natural to think about the What Ifs and have questions about any potential next steps. Hopefully the nurse will be able to answer all your Aunt's questions when she sees them and will be able to give you all some reassurance. 

In the meantime, if you or your Aunt would like to chat things through with one of our nurses you're most welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they will be happy to answer any questions they can and offer some support. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hi All,

Just an update, so the 20mm polyp was removed and the colorectal nurse advised that the cancer was confirmed to the polyp and they removed it and did not think it had gone beyond that. They advised no further action needed but active surveillance. They said they needed to do a baseline CT Scan of her chest, abdomen and pelvis.

Today she got a call advising the consultant would like to schedule an appointment and the reason was "further investigation".

What does this mean?
