Hello All,
My aunt a few months ago had one of those NHS fit tests and an anomaly was detected and following a colonoscopy, they removed 8 polyps which were all benign; there was a 9th one which was 20 mm and could not be removed via colonoscopy and was removed via the TAMIS procedure. The report described this as a polyp worth investigating.
The surgery was two weeks ago and this morning she got a call inviting her for an appointment on Wednesday next week at the hospital with a colorectal nurse, the man who called to make the appointment said he didn't have access to the results and was just told to make an appointment.
My aunt is freaking out that they are going to break the news that she has cancer.
Additionally if we do go down that route of cancer, we have been advised chemo/radiotherapy may be needed (which we understand) and also completion surgery? what is completion surgery?
Has anyone been through this process?
Fergus
