Lumps in neck

Hi all,

I am 21 and female, no ongoing health problems but very worried! Last year I discovered two smallish lumps in my neck, about the size of a pea, hard but movable. I went to the doctors and had an ultrasound and blood test which were fine. My mind settled a bit but recently I have started to worry as I felt them again and they seem to feel a little larger and harder than I last remember them feeling, they also feel more obvious now, meaning I do not have to search for them I can feel them. I have seen two doctors and had a blood test this year, both doctors say they are just ‘joints’ and feel nothing worrying, and my blood test came back fine. But I can’t understand it, they are two very obvious clear hard lumps under the skin in my neck, not visable. I can’t understand how doctors cannot feel what I am worried about. Trying to push for another ultrasound to double check because something about it just isn’t sitting right with me.

Anyone else had random lumps in their neck? What was it?

thank you!

  • Hello M200122,

I think you can be reassured by the fact you went to the doctor's and all your tests were fine. It sounds like you have seen several doctors and they are not concerned but as you are still anxious about it perhaps you could try and seek yet another opinion and see if you can have another ultrasound for complete peace of mind.

I hope you will hear from others on the forum who have had these types of lumps in their neck and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello. I have discovered a pea size lump. It moves slightly but no pain. I have googled this (even though I shouldn’t ) but I’m quite worried. Is yours painful?

  • Hey! Sorry for the super delayed response. I also googled it and it got me really worried. I’m currently waiting for my second ultrasound (but I had to really push for it). Mine are exactly the same, they move slightly but there is absolutely no pain. Hope ur doing ok!
