Waiting for results of a CT scan soon. I don't know how I will react. Other people get cancer, not me, do you understand how I feel? I am more than scared.

I couldn't do the edit. I forgot to say the results were very quick, just a few days, not ten working days as I had been told after the scan, which is more worrying.
Hello Mary,
I can understand why you are feeling scared while waiting for your results - you mentioned the results were very quick, just a few days. Have you already got your results back then? I hope that everything is ok and that you've found out more. If you are still waiting for results, there are helpful tips on this page to help you cope during this anxious time.
Everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing worrying!

Thank you. The colorectal consultant, a very kind doctor, telephoned me to say that the scan showed my problem is nothing to do with the bowel and more likely gynaecology. He had spoken to the gynae people who would contact me. I was contacted within a few days then and given an outpatients appointment a few days ago for a gynae doctor to explain things. Unfortunately, a different kind of doctor altogether, with a different accent could only understand about a quarter of what he said, and he dived straight in talking about cancer and other related things. I am to have a biopsy in the next week or so. He said he would put in writing what he had said and I think he said I would have the letter by the end of the week; it hasn't come yet.
The colorectal consultant, wrote, putting in black and white what he had said, again very nicely worded, a real people doctor.
I have received an outpatients appointment for urology.
