Pelvic mass?

Hi, I'm new here.

About 6 weeks ago my right leg started to swell, had to wait a week for a GP appointment and she thought it may be a DVT and referred me for a scan. It came back negative.

I then went back to the GP because my leg was still swollen, it had travelled all the way up to my groin and it was pitting ( left a big dent if I pushed on it). He was concerned and ordered a CT scan of my pelvis and abdomen 2 week referral. A week later I felt the swelling was getting worse and had an appointment for an internal. The doctor said she felt that I was swollen inside too. At this point I also felt a lump in my groin, asked the doctor to feel it and she said it may just be the swelling.

I had my CT scan Monday evening and was told the results will take 2 weeks.

I logged onto my NHS account this morning and no new appointments were there, checked again this evening. There are now 2 appointments,  one to discuss the results at 8pm today and a GP appointment for tomorrow.

I can't help but feel really anxious that the results have come so quick. Getting to speak to a GP is hard and out of the blue I have 2 appointments. Keep telling myself it's most likely a cyst but I have no pain (just some pelvic pain every now and then) . It worried me when he first sent me for the scan he said to check for tumours.

I feel silly writing this all here but I'm just so anxious, I wasn't before I saw the 2 GP appointments.

Anyone been through similar?

Thanks x

  • Hello Sarah.83,

Don't feel silly writing this and coming here to share your anxiety - I am sure many members of our community will understand how you are feeling especially as you saw these appointments pop up unexpectedly. By now you will have probably found out more and I hope that your appointments went well and you received reassuring news.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have been through something similar and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Everything tightly crossed for you that it all turned out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
