Pelvic mass

Hi

I had a laparoscopy in December 2022 due to pelvic pain, painful intercourse and a couple of episodes of blood when wiping after intercourse.

At my 3 month check up I was examined internally and asked how I was feeling since the OP…I mentioned I had a pulling/sharp pain on the right side of my pelvis but had assumed it was the healing process to which the doctor agreed.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when at work I felt the pain and noticed a hard lump when pressing on that area. This really knocked me as I could deal with the pain but now I had a lump! And a hard one at that which makes it even more scary.

I went to the doctors to get it checked and he said it felt like a lymph node and said it wasn’t overly large - to be honest it wasn’t an overly thorough examination and I know it’s much bigger than he has stated as I can’t help but feel it from time to time.
I have noticed the pain is a lot worse when I am on a period so I’m really hoping it is a cyst and nothing sinister.

My doctor has referred me for a scan so I’m waiting on that but I’d really like to know if anyone else has been through similar and could tell me their outcome?

So worried x

  • Hey Tasha,

I'm sorry you've found a lump in the area where you had your laparoscopy.

I know this must be scary but that good thing is that you've been referred and hopefully you won't have to wait too long to have your scan.

I'm sure some of our members who have been in a similar position will offer their support and advice to you soon but in the meantime, we'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed this is no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,

  • Thank you

i rang my doctors today as it’s been over 2 weeks and I hadn’t heard anything…he forgot to refer me. So I’ve got to go for bloods tomorrow and then he will refer for a scan. He’s given me a course of antibiotics but I don’t see them making any difference x

  • I'm sorry they forgot to refer you Tasha.

That must have been very annoying to discover but it's good you chased it up and have got the ball rolling once more.

Good luck with your bloods tomorrow and hopefully it won't be long until you hear back from the community.

    Kind regards,
