Male breast lump - GP or not GP, that is the question.

I’ve found a largish lump behind my left nipple. It’s fairly hard, not round or smooth. Seems to be attached to the tissue behind my nipple area. Approx 2cm. 
I’ve shown my wife as she has more experience with boobs lol! She didn’t seem too concerned, thought maybe a cyst but worth getting a GP to have a look. 
sooooo… I looked it up on Google. Big mistake? Yes. Now I don’t know what to think and I’m a bit embarrassed to get it checked in case he turns round and says it’s just moobs. I’m not overweight at all (quite skinny) but very conscious of how I look.

    Hi Kittyslim, I’m doing ok. I’ve done my best to keep my mind off the appointment but it’s been far from easy. I went through a phase of googling all information I can find. Looked at all the symptoms of everything it could possibly be! Didn’t really help but gave me a focus for a while but now I’m back to waiting waiting waiting… I’m still confident that it’s a benign lump and I’ll go home happy on Friday. I’ll fill you all in as soon as I can.

    The waiting around is just the worst isn't it! Googling can help, gives you information or helps you find those all important questions to ask.
