Symmetrical 2 x 1cm lymph node swelling on neck behind collar bone, a second higher up on left side

Hi guys,

thanks for having me! I’ve noticed I have 2 swollen lymph nodes (I think) on my left side of the neck, and another on the right. 2 of them are in symmetrical, on the very bottom of my neck, behind and slightly above the collarbone. And then a further slightly larger lymph node further up the left side of neck, around 1.5cm. I’m a 30yo male. I had tonsillitis around 6 weeks ago, noticed the first one (higher on my neck) then. But I wasn’t exactly looking for the other 2 so they may have always been there.

I have dental issues, no major pain but definitely bad cavities as I’m an ex addict, clean for 3 years but it took its toll! I also have some ear pain on the left side. But the lumps themselves are relatively painless, firm yet squishy and moveable.

can’t get an appointment until July 7th but am worried. Anyone got any info or stories to possibly rest or inform me a little?

thank you so much people, wishing you all well.

Sam

  • Welcome to the forum Sam although I'm sorry for the worry these swollen lymph nodes are causing.

This is actually quite a common talking point within the Cancer Chat community so you are not alone, and hopefully some of our members will stop by soon to offer their support and advice.

I hope this information I've found on the NHS website will put your mind at ease but in the meantime, we're thinking of you and wishing you all the best with your appointment next month.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
