I had tennis elbow 2 years back, which calmed down after a few months of rest. It flared up again 7 weeks ago, only the pain is much worse and radiating into the bone and up into my arm socket. Painkillers do not help and I find the pain increases when trying to sleep. There is the odd day where the pain is minimal and I think its getting better but it comes back with a vengeance the next day. I've been to the GP 3 times where the initial advice was to rest. The last GP put me in for a physio appointment, where I ''might...maybe....could....'' get a steroid injection. They still say it's tennis elbow. I'm female, late 50s. The worrying thing is that the arm now goes numb so I'm thinking of paying for a DEXA bone scan. Does anyone know how much it would cost in Scotland? If the initial elbow pain from 2 years ago was actually Ewing Sarcoma, would a DEXA pick that up? The GP requested an elbow x-ray, which was normal.
