Hey, 

I’m 24 and around a month and a half ago, I noticed a small mole style bump on the right side of my upper back. I have quite a large back tattoo which I had done around 2 years ago. At first, I actually thought it was a spot so I had my partner try and squeeze it which of course didn’t work. 

I have put off calling a GP, mostly because I’ve forgot and have been so busy with work. I’ve recently come back from Download Festival which was extremely hot the entire 4 days. I’m sunburnt and it looks as though this bump may have got bigger. I’m also concerned as I have previously used sunbeds. 

The bump is about 1cm and really dark in colour. It’s firm and from the side looks quite raised. It kinda looks black but also dark red at the time time. It can feel quite itchy sometimes, and also feels quite irritated. it’s making me really self conscious especially now because I know it’s there, and it’s sitting perfectly on my tattoo which makes it more noticeable. 

I am going on holiday this week to Tenerife and I’m starting to worry about being in the sun. I also have my best friends wedding in Greece in July. I have no idea what this thing could be, but from good old google I’d say the closest thing I can describe it as is possibly dermatofibroma. 

I know I should get it looked at which I will, it’s just so hard to get a GP appointment and I need some advice before I drive myself insane!
