Colonoscopy Unusual Findings

Hi, good evening

I recently had bloating and loose stools and having seen something about ovarian cancer, I thought I should have it checked out.  I had a FIT which came back positive so was referred for colonoscopy, which I had two days ago.  They took 8 biopsies and said everything looked normal.  However I received a phone call yesterday to say I had been booked for a CT scan tomorrow, there was an area on my transverse colon which looked like an ulcer but there was no inflammation.  The chap said he had never seen a TC that shape before - all puckered he said.

Has anyone any ideas or similar - needless to say, the speed of the referral and CT scan has left me a little worried as it is so quick.

Many thanks

  • Hello kernowlassy,

You did well to have this checked out and it must be a really stressful time for you at the moment after being told initially that everything looked normal and being subsequently informed that there was this area in your transverse colon which needed further investigation. It's great though that things are moving fast.

By now you will have probably had your CT scan and I hope that everything went ok and that you don't have to wait too long for your results.

    Keeping everything crossed for you!

    Best wishes,
