Teledermatology

I recently have been to a teledermatology appoitment at hospital after an urgent refferal from my gp. When i attended the gp appoitment the hospital rang me the next day (friday) asking if i could attend an appoitmwnt the following Wednesday. Its been 9 days now since my teledermatology appoitment at hospital and i know you wait 2-3 weeks for results but j was just wondering what times have others waited who have been in the same situation?

My mole was 9mm by 5mm when measured by gp, there was a colour variation and he could see a lesion on it. I havent really had any symptoms. Does this mean i shouldnt be worried?

I know i should just wait for my results but i just wantes to ask on here too.

  • Hello DG2323

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had an appointment with a specialist to get a mole checked and that you're now waiting on the results of that assessment. We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be difficult and it's understandable that you may be feeling a little anxious.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long to hear some news. In the meantime if you think it may help to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice and support they can.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi,

From does by to others who have first been referred to Teledermatology, the average wait to hear results or receive a face to face dermatology appointment is 3 weeks.

I hope you aren't waiting too much longer and that the results bring good news. Please let us know how you get on.
