Anxiety through the roof - waiting for results

Hi all - I'm new to the forum so I hope it's ok to just jump in.
I've had a few issues associated with my pelvic area and so was referred for a pelvic scan which I had today.
More or less straight away from putting the probe on my pelvis  the sonographer said she needed to do an internal exam.
Apart from asking me if I have painful periods for some reason, she didn't give anything away during the whole exam.
When I was getting dressed, the photos were still on the screen and it showed one of my ovaries with a lot of red and blue (blood flow) compared to the other one which had almost not much colour.
I'm now freaking out as the results aren't due for a week and I'm worried about the very clear difference of blood flow. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else been asked if their periods are painful during a scan?
Trying not to over think this but it's sooooo hard!

  • I'm also new to the forum and had a similar day to yourself. Over the last 2 to 3 months bleeding every 2 weeks now every other week. Went for a smear this morning and nurse said I. Bled a little but she couldn't see anything irregular. This afternoon (just a coincidence landed on the Same day) went for a ultrasound and was ask if ok to do internal scan which I had. Told me to phone my drs start of next week. Having the internal and being told to speak to gp so soon has sent me into a total panic even though I would rather know sooner rather than later if there is something

  • Sorry you've had a challenging and worrisome day. It's the waiting I find intolerable. Trying so hard not to think the worst but it's not easy. It's difficult to talk to friends about it as I don't want to worry or burden them for no reason.
Hopefully both our results will come through quickly.
