I saw consultant this morning after weeks of tests and biopsies and scans I have some clarity.
I have a 8cm endometrioma and have undergone a multitude of tests etc with no-one really telling me why or what for, but my case went to MDT and it was decided I should have a Total abdo hysterectomy and removal of cervix, both ovaries and both fallopian tubes.
I am 46 only had 1 previous surgery in my life for a dog bite and I have no real health complaints, I'm a fit and healthy person so the thought of this surgery is terrifying me.
Today it was made clear to me that they have not found cancer anywhere obvious but that they still highly suspect cancer somewhere and most likely in the cyst which is why my CA125 is high and why MDT have recommended the full surgery.
I'm on the urgent 2ww surgery list. I have been told my cyst given its size and where it is could have attached itself to other organs, bladder or bowel and that there is a risk these will be damaged in the process of removing the cyst.
I'm looking for some hysterectomy success feedback with similar situations, I'm an active person and dreading the 3 months recovery and dreading HRT.
