Raised CA125 result

Hi Everyone 

thought I'd come on here and get some advise. I've been very anxious lately regarding my CA125 results. I had my bloods done everything came back normal expect for my CA125 result, the results were 175 which is quite high. I was intially diagnosed with a urine infection and was on antibiotics, after that I went on holiday and when I came back I was a burning sensation so went to the drs again and had urine infection again and they also said it could be pelvic inflammatory disease , at this point they did my blood tests including CA125. I am now on the waiting list for 2 weeks to have a scan and feeling very anxious.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some ongoing symptoms which have led you to receive a raised CA125 level. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious

    Whilst a CA125 test can be used as part of the diagnostic process for ovarian cancer it's important to know, and keep in mind, that there are other conditions that can cause a raised result such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and pregnancy. 

    We have another member [@Mia_96]‍  who also posted here this week with a raised CA125 level and is awaiting a two-week wait referral appointment. I've tagged her in my reply so that you may be able to chat and support each other. 

    Hopefully the scan that you're due to have within the next few weeks will bring some reassurance and the team will be able to get on top of your symptoms.
