Breast fullness been reffered support

Hello,

I'm new to this I'm 30 years of age. I noticed while tanning that my left breast above my felt firmer when raising my arm compared to my right breast and I first initially thought it was my tendon.

To cut a long story short I have been experiencing some burning type pain but wasn't sure if it was down to me checking my breast.

Anyway, I went to the GP this morning saw a male Dr who at first was reluctant to examine me as he said they don't really do much for breast pain just manage by Ibruprofine.

After a battle I requested to be examined as I said I wasn't sure what I was looking for with a lump and I'd quite like to be checked for a peice of mind. In which he agreed. Upon examination he said he couldn't feel any lumps but he did feel a fullness on the upper left breast which is what I felt  initially and he thinks it's just breast tissue.

He advised it was up to me to be reffered to a breast clinic in which obviously I've asked to be reffered.

I'm a very anxious person..I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same thing where it feels slightly fuller in one breast than the other.

Hope this is OK me posting xx

  • Hello Amyk12

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some concerns about your breast health recently. You've done exactly the right thing in seeing your GP to have this examined.

We know that many people find waiting for appointments to be an anxious time. It might help to keep in mind that the large majority of people seen at specialist breast clinics are not diagnosed with cancer so try to thing positively.

It may help to chat things through with one of our nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can whilst you're waiting for your appointment. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm (excluding bank holidays)on 0808 800 4040.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for your appointment and the team is able to give you some reassurance.

    Best wishes,
