Clarity?!

Hi

I was referred for blood tests by my gp following heavy painful periods, and back and abdominal pain. The ca125 came back high and i was then sent for pelvic ultrasound. The Dr told me this could indicate ovarian cancer.

I had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound today, an hour after my appointment I had 2 missed calls from the hospital on my mobile and answered the 3rd call on my landline. They have booked me into see a gyno on the 2nd June 2WW and said I could bring an adult with me.

Will I get my scan results during the appointment? what can i expect from the gyno appointment? Does this mean something was detected on the ultrasound?

I don't know what to expect and am trying to remain positive but this is on my mind

Apologies for all the questions but I havent really been given much info regarding the appointment etc

Any clarity would be great!

Thank you for taking the time!

  • Hi Whattoexpect,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand that this has created a lot of questions and uncertainty.

It is likely you'll get the results at the appointment, but it is difficult to advise on what these may be.

If you'd like to talk things through with someone, you are welcome to give our nurses a call. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Otherwise, if others here have any similar experience to share, then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
