GP has charted Cancer without talking to me

I have been unwell for almost 4 years and attended the Surgery for numerous blood draws and vitals checks. I am now housebound and the GP comes to me as does the nurse.

At the last GP visit he discussed the abnormalities in my bloodwork but gave no reasons or opinions.

The following day I read on my NHS record online that the "GP suspects 'gut feeling' of a cancer diagnosis and more details to follow with referral".  He never shared this concern with me and I don't know who the referral is to or for what.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

  • Hi 1093UK,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be difficult and also confusing. It would be reasonable to give your GP a call, as it's important that you have some idea of what to expect.

If others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon. Otherwise, hopefully you are able to find out more soon, from the GP and/or any other correspondence.

In the meantime, we're always here for support if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
