Smooth Colposcopy appointment- nothing to worry about

I had a colposcopy today and as so many other women, when I first received the letter telling me I needed further examination I was terrified. I suffer with anxiety and this forced me to panic more than normal.

I was very nervous sitting in the waiting room and as mine was not a minor case, I was expecting the worst. I must say that the actual procedure was completely pain-free, including the biopsy. I was told I would feel a pinch- I felt nothing at all. Honestly ladies, I felt zero pain and would say that a normal smear was more of a pinch than this. Perhaps because of the skill and experience of the nurses carrying out this procedure.

I did not need treatment (thank you Lord) so can only comment on the colposcopy and biopsy taking. Pain free, stress free and all done in around 5 mins.

I was told I would have to wait a couple of weeks for results and commit to 6 month check-ups to confirm no further cell changes. I think because I haven't given birth and they were comfortable with what they saw during the colposcopy. I felt reassured that I'd be monitored every 6 months and overall, really relieved and so much better for just getting this done. My advice is get it done, it is honestly nothing to worry about.
