Scared witless

I have been having right sided rib pain which is pretty constant , had phone consult with my endocrinologist (annual review ) in remission from pituitary tumour. He upon my description of pain and possible some swelling arranged a ct scan eith contrast which I had Monday and a brief summary is a nodule on my left lung  and 12mm opacity of my right breast as I'm sure you can imagine my mind is whirring eith possibilities hence I'm still awake at 5am , I have had the usual bloods done plus crp and ca125 which I hope will be available on Saturday via hospital as hub, any ideas advice please.

  • Hi Echob,

I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. It is good to know that you have already had a CT with contrast. I hope that you get your results back tomorrow and that they are not as bad as you are imagining.

This is always a worrying time. Try to keep yourself busy to help take your mind off the wait and steer clear of Google, until you know exactly what you are dealing with.

Please stay in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

  • Thank you jolamine , I have been through similar before with cushings disease but this I find more scary ,hopefully get some answers next week .

  • Hi Echob,

This is always scary and there is always additional anxiety, when you have had a previous tumour. Can I ask when you were diagnosed with a pituatry tumour? All I can say is that, no amount of worry will change the outcome.

Thinking of you and hoping that you hear something soon, as the waiting is always hard.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi jolamine ,

I was diagnosed with pit tumour (cushings disease) in 2017  and had surgery later that year followed 6 months later by 5 weeks of radiotherapy as I have some remaining tumour and have been in remission ever since , I first started to have symptoms in 2008 although I didn't know it so took a long time for doctors to actually send a referral snd surgery 7 months later . I have a really good endocrine consultant who is always available and very helpful .

  • Hi Echob,

I am delighted to hear that you have been in remission since 2017 and that you have a very good endocrine consultant. It makes such a differene to be able to contact him/her when needed and to find them helpful.

I hope that you are not having another sleepless night.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Ha jolamine , I'm used to sleepless nights , stress and Cortisol  plus my blood results have only just become available to me on my patient hub but will I hope speak to someone Monday whether it's my endo or gp (if I can get past receptionist ) , as I don't work due to fatigue I have the luxury of being able to sleep in during the day .

    Hi Echob,

I am glad to hear that you can manage to catch up on your sleep throughout the day. Here's hoping that you can manage to speak to your endocrinologist or your GP on Monday.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Probably my endocrinologist as my gp surgery isn't great,
