Aching groin and testicles

I started with aching in pelvis then to stomach muscles which was worse when sitting and then the groin and a slight soreness at tip of penis. Went to doctor who said muscle strain and did a urine test which was clear so said not to worry about penis. A couple of weeks later tip of my urethral had a burning sensation on and off. Did a swab test all clear. Went to a osteopath who says I have a trapped nerve in the back which is causing the other aches and have had 3 treatments without getting any better yet but he did say it would take time. Now I get an ache in both testicles to add to the other issues  the osteopath says this is related to my trapped nerve. The osteopath is very well respected but do you think it's worth another trip to doctors or stick with osteopath. I'm just quite anxious now I have the aching testicles but what I read on line both testicles aching is not normally a bad thing as anything serious normally in one testicle.

  • Hello Mark03 and a big welcome to Cancer Chat!

I think for complete peace of mind, it would not do any harm to get in touch with the doctor again and mentioning this ache in both testicles. Talking to your GP about this and how it is making you anxious will help you feel better as the doctor will be in the best position to tell you whether they agree with the osteopath and it is linked to a trapped nerve.

I hope you get some clarity on all this soon and that you will also hear from other forum members who have had similar issues before.

    Best wishes,

  • As someone who has suffered for years with back issues, yes, back issues do cause those symptoms down to a T. What you're feeling is called referred pain. Almost every nerve in your body travels from the spine. So the further up it happens, the more things affected. I always have groin pain when my back is bad.

Me personally, i wouldn't even let an osteopath go near my back until I have had an MRI on my back. X rays are garbage imo. They only show up bone issues. MRI's highlight your discs and other soft tissue problems. Ask to be referred for an MRI if it's not getting better. You risk doing more damage, letting someone manipulate your back. If you have to get something, go with physio. They don't manipulate your back like an osteopath.

Sounds like a pinched nerve or muscle issue. Could also be a disc problem. Unfortunately, time and patience are the only real healers. The fact it hurts when you sits, kinda points to it being a disc issue. With a disc bulge, when you sit, it compresses the disc more. I struggle to sit when my back is bad. so much so, I can go weeks without sitting properly upright.
