womb thickening 19mm

Did my ultrasound check due to the period pains.

Today I have received a call from the doctor information that my womb thicker is 19mm. Ultrasound has been completed few days before period.

I am 31 years old, never been pregnant (however this year we have planned it)

Now doctor advised that I need urgent appoitment and they put me in priority list, still waiting for confirmation.

Can someone advise what is this exactly and the most important think if i can get pregnant?

I do have regular periods, however they are very paiful

  • hello!

I'm in the same situation as you. Went to the drs over my periods and was given a scan which showed thickened endometrial lining. The sonographer said it might be endometrial hyplasia.

Got given a 2 week wait for the hopsital and should hear back from them today or tomorrow. Drs said I will most likely be having a biopsy to rule out cancer.

it helps to just try and take it one step at a time. I get that this is a scary time so I'm here if you want to talk whilst we both go through this :) I'm not an expert but seems like no one wants to really give any solid answers about any questions until I've had a biopsy. Good luck for your appointment I hope they get in touch with you soon

  • It's such a scary feeling.

I have received notification on my NHS app that I am due to receive a call to book gynae- oncology referral. I have called them myself just to check if I can push appointment ASAP, however they advised that until 31st May 2023 I will receive a call to arrange a visit.

As I have been informed only yesterday started reading loads of articles. For my view I just want to make sure that I will be able to have a baby

I will start endo diet, will try to avoid red meat. I was reading that it should help to reduce it

I would be nice to have someone that I can talk too about this, as other people saying that I am over thinking, but no one will understand this when then never had it...
